Philadelphia, PA The World Series champion Philadelphia Phillies made it official Tuesday and signed free agent outfielder Raul Ibanez.
The deal, which was reported by several media outlets last Friday, is for three years and $31.5 million.
Ibanez played all 162 games last season for Seattle and batted .293 with 43 doubles, 23 home runs and 110 runs batted in.
"Raul not only brings a big bat to our lineup, but also a terrific attitude to the clubhouse," said Philadelphia general manager Ruben Amaro Jr. "He is a quality individual that will fit in well with our club. We believe that a team wins not only with talent, but also with character and Raul has both."
